Swimming trip

This weekend Wyatt went swimming for the first time.

You see where Eric and I differ in life and in parenting styles at times like these.
Eric and Wyatt literally ran to the neighbors pool after I had slathered the little guy in spf 50!

Once in the water Eric had Wyatt facing away from him and when blazin through the water like a ski boat!
As you might predict this scare the heck out of Wyatt and lead to a scream that meant WHERE'S MY MOMMA!! So the hand off occure as soon as I was able to catch up and climb in the pool.

Once the screaming and crying stopped we were able to leisurly glide through the water getting used to the temperature, the texture the boyuance and the worst part ... the glare of the sun off the water.

All in all it was a good time and I think based on Wyatt's reaction to the water the following day it was not as tramatizing as he made it out to be.
Day two in the pool was a little more acceptable to the little guy.

Pictures and video soon

Exercise progress

Finally! I am beginning to feel like I'm regaining some of my fitness attributes.
9 months of rapid deconditioning left an ugly mark on my heart and lungs! ( and everything that surrounds that area too!)

I was finally able to increase my intensity this past Tuesday by adding an additional riser back on in step class. BONUS I was able to walk, get up, bend etc afterwards.
Around 8 months I was beginning to think I would never exercise again. I had replaced those good feelings with pregnancy fatigue. My head was saying yes but the BOD was screaming HECK NO.

So I'm happy to actually feel like I'm on the forward moving side of the continuum again physically speaking.

Now I want to find the desire to run again! ( not that I'm fast or good but I do enjoy the feeling of accomplishment after some amount of distance)

10 Things I love about Wyatt at 3 months!

3 Months Old
10 Things I love about Wyatt
1. He says “ BAA” “ BAAAAAA” with a desperate little whine in his voice when things aren’t what he expects. Not a full on fit but we know a little something is not to his liking.
2. He says something that sounds like “ I’m Good” when he’s content and wanting to share with us. This has all of his grannys’ saying “ yes We know you are a good boy”. Sweet
3. I love that he wants his daddy to rock him to sleep in the evening. Mama takes care of bath time and daddy takes care of the night night ritual.
4. That people assume he is older than he is based on his chunky butt!
5. I love when people comment on his little round head
6. He loves to sit on his dad’s knee and bounce…. Grins from ear to ear
7. Wyatt loves to go to the gym at least 2 times a day.
8. If someone is holding him he’d rather be standing on their legs than sitting on them
9. Eric’s Grandpa Geis says “ He’s a dandy” .
10. I love when he wants to snuggle with me but those moments are few and far between rght now…. He’s an explorer!

Trip to TN

We recently went back down to TN for a visit and a wedding shower.
My baby cuz ( 21) is getting married in Aug. This was Wyatt's third trip to Tn in Three months. This lil dude rolls!

Luckily our pal Heather was available to take more pictures of Wyatt while we were there. Unfortunately it was HOT HOT HOT and RAINY at the site we chose.
Our friend Sherri's parents have a fantastic farm out in a rural part of Knoxville.
Every where you look there are picturesque places to be. Unfortunately picturesque and rain do not go well with an expensive camera. So we spent about two hours ducking rain showers.
Hopefully Heather was able to work her magic and capture some neat shots of our boy!

During the shoot Eric was trying to keep up with our three dogs. They were wild! lovin the rain, lovin the pond--- NOT lovin the electric fence used to keep the "stuff" away from the horses. (* or perhaps to keep the horses off the fence).

Little Roxy- (5 lb Yorkie) some how tangoed with the fence. We heard a dramatic "yep yep yep" and she took off like a bullet. No one saw her in the fence but we can only assume.

Sher's dad said... " he turned around and she was haulin tail in 4 wheel drive".
Poor puppy!!

sore and whipped

I decided I needed to jump start my workouts so I signed myself up for a turbokick training. Mind you that I have missed this training in my own gym where I could have participated for free three different times. However now was the time and I was ready for the punishment.

I reminded myself that it could not be as hard as body pump, body combat training or childbirth. I had survived those three things so this one day would be ok.

What I learned about myself during this 8 hour experience was that I am much more aware of my aches and pains now than I was when I was in my early 20's.
I turn 30 in about a month and my Knees and other joints were indeed experiencing some interesting pressure not felt previously.

I did have fun taking the training although there were times when I didn't know what was going on and I thought the instructors upper cuts and hooks looked too simlar to tell apart at the high speed.
What I like about the program is the music and the 32 count combos that are already created.
I also liked that do not have to teach it at a gym that is licensed to have the class.
This has been a problem with body pump and body combat as there are NO gyms under an hour a way that offer either class here in town!

What I dislike is that I am not connected to a good instructor group here in town to help me get better. I've considered trying to connect with one of the gyms in Indy for some instructor to instructor accountabilty.

In the end I was super sweaty and had a good time. It was nice to show up and be a participant as opposed to hosting or being responsible for the event.
It was a nice although painful gift for mommy!

Grow grow grow

The science behind baby development is only fascinating when you re experiencing it along side your little one.
This growth spurt is a litte easier than the previous ones but not fun by any stretch.

Wyatt began this morning and spent most of the day in a great mood! Just after bath time however things went south. ( never really got that saying as I thnk the south is good but alas =).
I really think Wyatt doesn't want to go to sleep. If I could give him anythng right now it would be an apprecition for good sleep.I'm hopeful that he'll not fight it so much as we end this spurt and prepare for the next!

On another note today is our 3rd wedding anniversary! It has flown by. It is tough to believe how many things have changed since that saturday three years ago. As I remember that day and those who were there I smile.

This morning Eric made breakfast and then he grilled for us ths evening. It was a nice day despite the rain.
