Wyatt 6 months

Wyatt is 6 months old as of yesterday!

It is indescribable how much his existence has changed me for the better.
He is now trying to crawl around ( rolling anyway) and loves to be talked too.
He really loves watching anything his dad does. Dad must be the coolest!!

I'm happy to rest in the idea that God's timing is perfect otherwise I would regret not having babies sooner! Despite my disdain for the state of pregnancy I would endure that a million times over to be able to know my lil boy.

He rocks!

5 months old

This past weekend Wyatt had two teeth "erupt". I thought that term was an interesting way to describe the process of teeth coming in. Erupt is a good term in that it causes some chaos and discontent for my little one.

Sherri and Travis came up to visit us which is always a fun time. We sat around the campfire and played " Going camping" with the neighbors.

At this point Wyatt is sitting up as much as he can. He even wants to sit up right in his swing while strapped in.
He's mastered rolling over in both directions and can move about the living room but I don't think he really knows where he's going yet!.

Wyatt 4 months and 3 weeks

Eric and I went whitewater rafting in West VA this past weekend. This was a picture I snapped of Wyatt upon our return. He stayed with his Mi Mi all weekend.
It went really well but has been a long time in the coming for me.

4 months old today

The past 4 months have felt both like a lifetime and a bolt of lightening all at the same time. The amount we have learned, changed, adjusted, readjusted, experienced, laughed at , cried at and felt has been transformational.
I have loved becoming a mommy. I love "loving" my baby!

Today
I noticed that his hair is much fuzzier than yesterday
I noticed his legs have lil hair on them
I noticed that he has dicsovered his feet and that they are almost as cool as his dad
I noticed that his cry to be readjusted in the bed is different from the feed me Seymour cry that I've become accustomed too
I noticed that he is quick to roll to his tummy but has not figured out that he can roll back!
I noticed that it is already going too fast and I don't want to miss a second!

Happy Independance!

Wyatt's first fourth of July! This is a special day for us as a fam!
Unfortunately it was way too cold and wet to do much of anything outside. We had been invited to a big fireworks show ( Thanks Leslie) however Wyatt was sound asleep in his crib well before dark. So maybe next year!

We spent some time with our neighbors ( who are great neighbors by the way) and then listened to the explosions from inside our house.

The sounds of small bombs bursting in air made me think about families who are less than excited to hear those types of things flying around their homes. I am thankful to not be afraid of impending bombs bursting overhead.

Can you imagine the type of celebration we would have had if chemical or bio warfare had been the flavor of the day back then?

Instead of sparklers and roman candles we might be dawning gas masks and eye wash bottles? Likely it would turn into a large water fight for celebratory purposes.

at anyrate I'm disappointed that the weather was cold and wet but since I'm not in control I guess I'll choose to roll with it =)

Swimming trip

This weekend Wyatt went swimming for the first time.

You see where Eric and I differ in life and in parenting styles at times like these.
Eric and Wyatt literally ran to the neighbors pool after I had slathered the little guy in spf 50!

Once in the water Eric had Wyatt facing away from him and when blazin through the water like a ski boat!
As you might predict this scare the heck out of Wyatt and lead to a scream that meant WHERE'S MY MOMMA!! So the hand off occure as soon as I was able to catch up and climb in the pool.

Once the screaming and crying stopped we were able to leisurly glide through the water getting used to the temperature, the texture the boyuance and the worst part ... the glare of the sun off the water.

All in all it was a good time and I think based on Wyatt's reaction to the water the following day it was not as tramatizing as he made it out to be.
Day two in the pool was a little more acceptable to the little guy.

Pictures and video soon

Exercise progress

Finally! I am beginning to feel like I'm regaining some of my fitness attributes.
9 months of rapid deconditioning left an ugly mark on my heart and lungs! ( and everything that surrounds that area too!)

I was finally able to increase my intensity this past Tuesday by adding an additional riser back on in step class. BONUS I was able to walk, get up, bend etc afterwards.
Around 8 months I was beginning to think I would never exercise again. I had replaced those good feelings with pregnancy fatigue. My head was saying yes but the BOD was screaming HECK NO.

So I'm happy to actually feel like I'm on the forward moving side of the continuum again physically speaking.

Now I want to find the desire to run again! ( not that I'm fast or good but I do enjoy the feeling of accomplishment after some amount of distance)
